Seeing as TheLuxeologist is a fan of all things Patron, we jumped at the invitation to judge Dubai’s round of the global #PatronPerfectionists cocktail competition at Cove Beach. Six brilliant bartenders showcased their unique creations with the hope of winning the chance to compete in the global final in Mexico. The winner was none other than Emilio Valencia of Aji on The Palm (@yourfavouritebartender) – head to Aji to try the winning cocktail mixed by the man himself!
Maria Mexico Mi Amor
Ingredients…
60 ml Patron Silver
15 ml Epazote Tea
15 ml home made Jalapeño Jam
5 ml Agave syrup
30 ml clarified lime juice
Four dashes of plum bitters
Smoked jalapeño caramel and tortilla salt (made from tortilla leftovers and the solids of the Jalapeño Jam)
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass (with the exception of the plum bitters) and stir. Pour into a chilled coupe glass, aromatise with plum bitters and rim with the smoked jalapeño and tortilla salt.
Double strain and serve.

Green Glory by Anna of Coya, Abu Dhabi
50 ml Patrón Reposado
40 ml basil & lemongrass cordial
20 ml yuzu juice
40 ml ginger beer
Mix Patrón, cordial and yuzu juice, shake and double strain into a chilled cup. Top up with
ginger beer, garnish with basil leaves, white flowers, edible gold.
